Chaintech ZNF3-250 Motherboard Review

2004-08-10

The problem with most motherboards is that they come with the bare essentials: cables, screws, and not much else. Chaintech decided to play it a bit differently with their new ZNF3-250. This board might make you ask how much is too much. Highs: More accessories than any motherboard we've seen, excellent board layout, and great sound. Lows: High cost, an overworked PCI bus, and problems with large, fast DIMMs. Lowdown: This one's for the enthusiasts, all right. If you're looking for a bundle, this might be up your alley.

Soyo CK8 Dragon Plus Review

2004-06-15

Today, DMOS looks at the reasonably priced Soyo CK8 Dragon Plus. The good: no gimmicky add-ons, excellent board layout, and solid multimedia and math performance. The bad: nothing to set it apart from the crowd, weak overclocking, and an overworked PCI bus. The low-down: if you're looking for a reliable, moderately priced setup, then this is certainly an option.

AOpen AK86-L Motherboard Review

2004-08-24

Motherboards come in two types: those that let the extras in the box wow people, and those that let board performance do it for them. Today, we take a look at one of the latter, with the AOpen AK86-L K8T800-based motherboard. Highs: No gimmicks, great board layout, and quiet PC features. Lows: No AGP/PCI lock, recent cop-outs in the BIOS, and a battery that's just an accident waiting to happen.

Review of the Albatron KM18G Pro

2003-10-30

CHUN, a Taiwan based hardware manufacturer known primarily for their display devices, decided in 2002 that they needed a bit of a face lift. The company changed its name to Albatron Technology and added motherboards to their offerings. Sweet mother of overclocking! Did it make an impact! On the grill today we have the Albatron KM18G Pro micro-ATX motherboard, based on the nForce2 chipset. Let's dig in and see if this little guy can perform up to the levels of other Albatron-released motherboards.
